We (Havaianas Junkies = Havies) had an early Christmas party last November 26, 2006 at Somethin' Fishy in Eastwood, Libis. As early as November, here are the reasons why I felt like it's Christmas that day.

1. Lotsa Give-aways

I got a Wrap-around Bag Organizer from the Raffle , a cellphone accessory from Elsa, a bracelet from Jan, a Lightning McQueen wallet for my son Gian (not in the picture), and yummy peanuts from KG and Pao.

2. My Havaianas Greetings

So nice to stare at noh? I hope every Havaianas pair has a free keychain and a plastic case.

Finally, they have landed... my much awaited pairs.

3. My Zebra Prints w/ Pink Straps

Wow, what can I say about this pair! I felt lucky having been able to find one last pair all the way from Australia. What makes it special is the fact that I got it for free! Well, long story and I can't thank them (Havaianas Australia) enough for their generosity and kindness.

4. My WC Nippon

I dunno why this model was never released here in the Philippines but I'm glad I managed to get a pair. Iba talaga ang powers ni Inang Reyna.

It has been 2-3 yrs now since I got my very 1st pair of Havaianas. I almost got addicted then but I stopped after getting my 3rd pair.

This year was different. Just like last July, I added about 11-12 pairs to my existing ones (in a span of 6weeks). Make that 2 pairs average in a week. Pairs come from all over the Globe most especially the limited ones. I just can't get enough of it... no matter how much it will cost me.

And now, the 2007 collection is here! The Havies (Havaianas Junkies) are running amock over the new styles. I averaged 5 Havaianas in 4 days last week and it just doesn't stop there... more styles are coming in for the next few weeks and I'm getting broke. Hahaha! I'm close to having 3 dozen pairs by the end of the week, how 'bout that? Addik!!! Hahaha Ü

Thanks to my GT sisters, who are always there for the updates and for getting a pair or two for those who cannot make it to the mall (like me, while I'm still on Maternity Leave). Mabilis maubusan ang size ko kaya kelangan maagap hahaha! Ü

Oh man, it's been quite some time since my last entry. Sorry... I was just too lazy and busy at the same time. ;) A lot has happened and let me try my best to recall everything:

Boxing & Badminton

I remember posting about my plans of going back to taekwondo months ago. Unfortunately, I never had the chance coz I have work on Saturdays. And since I'm so determined to stay fit, I looked for an alternative. One is badminton. Bonding time with my hubby and sister-in-law. We don't do it regularly though... too bad.

And now, I'm soooo into boxing. Elorde, baby! :D Haha! I first wanted kickboxing sana, but then I can't find a gym near our place that offers a class in kickboxing. It's tough but I love it! We never got the chance to visit this week though... :( no time eh. Hopefully by tuesday, we can go back and do it regularly this time. I'll post pictures some other time. We (me & Carol -- my boxing and starbucks buddy) still have to convice Ryu to go with us so he can take pictures of us in action. Haha! :p

The team's on a five-game losing streak I know... sad but m still optimistic they can get back on track. I've got high expectations from Tee but then, he failed to keep the team on top. Hopefully, the new import can give them a lift. I still believe in you guys! Go aces! Win or lose, I will always be here. ;) Been a fan since the early 90's and nothing or no one can ever change that.

PBA's back! Yey! We watched the opening last Sunday. It was fun... err should I say funny? Hahaha! Nice idea for an opening though. Good start PBA! And yeah... Commisioner Eala's right -- "tapos na ang mga gabing walang saysay!" -- :D True! Me and my husband agreed on that. Finally, the long wait is over! For us basketball fanatics, that is. Haay... I don't think I will ever outgrow PBA. Never. Even when we're old and grey, we would still watch it definitely. With my son on the court, hopefully. ;) Hehe

I can practically spend half a day or even one whole day of just exploring, browsing, learning, and so on... I wish I'm an expert. But no. Unfortunately not. But it's okay... as long as I know the basics, I'm still on the right track. A good start, I must say. Hopefully next time I'd be able to create my own page without using others' templates. Sept. 04, 2005 - Family Day at Robinson's Galleria

Me and my family (Felix & Gian) just spent some quality time with my Dad, Mom, and bro. Heard mass at the Edsa Shrine and had dinner at Kitchen Galleria. I still can't get over that "Alvin!" incident. Haaaay... Mama ko tlaga... hindi masyadong fan ni Alvin Patrimonio (naku solid Purefoods yon -- sila ni Papa). Pao, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. :p Bwahahaha!

Sept. 05, 2005 - Second home?!?

We have spent yet another week at the Medical City. I hate to say this but it seems like we have made this place our second home. I know it's not something I should be proud of but that's how I see it. If this hospital can only reward us for being so loyal... we'd be damn rich! ^_^

You may be wondering what's happening to my kid. He's fine. He's healthy and he's strong. One bibbo kid as ever. It's just that... he hate medicines. Believe me... we've tried all possible techniques, but to no avail. :( A simple cough and a simple cold can lead him to the hospital. Why? Coz we can't give him medications. Rather than let him suffer from a mild sickness which can lead to something bigger, we might as well bring him there and let the doctors do their stuff. Good thing he can take milk with vitamins in it. But milk with medicine? Naaaah... Expect him not to finish it. Trust me, he knows. Smart kiddo... tsk tsk. :p

But we know it's something he will soon overcome. Thanks for the reassurance, doc. ;)

We had a blast last Friday at Gateway Mall. Me and my friends (Irene, Selina, Mel, Joey, Melay, Carol, & Ryu) badly needed a break from all the stress our office work has to offer... in short, we need to unwind, go out and have fun just so we feel relieved. We deserved it after all. So there...

Movie watched: D' Anothers! haha! baduy? naaaah... not at all. We really had fun -- as in! Laugh trip to the max. Promise! Haha! To those who didn't make it (ehem... Jay & Pao) -- it's your loss! :p The most fun of all? Shopping of course! And Taco Bell no doubt! Love their Margarita Slush hehe :D

Saturday after my tutorial, I had to go to Medical City's ER for a check up I badly needed. Not that it's an urgent thing (well almost), but since the doctor's clinic were already closed. It's past 5pm, so... I opted to go to the ER instead to see a doctor. All he could say was: take a rest. You're young, yet full of stress. And I think he's right. I've been working my butt off to a point where I hardly get enough sleep. And no matter how hard I try to sleep on my rest days, it just ain't enough. Argh....

The next day, I had no choice but to take my doctor's advice to go on leave. Sick Leave, that is. Take a rest for a couple of days and undergo some physical examinations. Just to make sure everything's fine (fingers crossed). Was scheduled for a Threadmill Stress Test and 2D Echo on Monday, August 8. Interesting but scary. Haha!

Anyways, another boring day...

Been missing my old phone :s

It's been more than a month since I bought my new cellphone. A Nokia 6630. I actually like it so don't get me wrong. I love every details and features of it. It's just that... I've had my Nokia 7650 for 2 years and 7 months (to be exact). The longest I've had and it's been with me through thick and thin. I've dropped it gazillion times but it never broke. Never once. It's a tough phone, really. But I just have to dispose it... I had to upgrade.

I can still remember how I felt after I opened the box of my 7650 when I bought it a few years back. Oh how I love the smell. Haha! :P And now I'm just as amazed with my new phone. I honestly am not oh so familiar with it yet. There's just too many features and my husband loved it as well. He's actually thinking of buying an Ericsson P910i just so I'd give him my phone. Now that's a different story. Hahaha! M still thinking about it. Hahaha!

I only hope whoever bought my old 7650 will take care of it as much I did.

Don't you just hate people who thinks they "know-it-all"? Hey, I know wisdom comes with age but that doesn't mean you're smarter than the rest. And that you're always right, thinking we're always wrong. Funny how they claim to be matured than you are and yet they act silly in front of people way much younger than they are.

I don't even find this post an interesting one, sorry. I just have to air this out. I'm not the type who confronts people and so I'd rather put this into writing.

Although I acknowledge the fact that Carrie deserved to win the title, it was not what I hoped for. I was actually rooting for Bo Bice. He's no extraordinary performer. He may have been "branded" or "labeled" as a rockstar but he can actually do any type of song. More versatile I must say. Yeah Carrie's pretty -- a Reese Witherspoon look-alike -- but Bo was something else. I can't keep him off my mind -- his smile, his eyes, and his wink. Haay... when will I ever see him again? I sure wish he'd be given a recording contract, make some hits and still get famous all over the world. I want more of him! haha :p

It's definitely the best AI season ever. Regardless of the final results, the Alabama boy has shown what he's got. He may have lost the title, but he gained so much more. For me, he's still THE American Idol!

Congrats to Carrie but Bo Bice rocks! Yeah! ;) haha :p

Been away from my blog for almost a month now. Got really busy these days that I didn't have enough time to compose even just a short post. hehe

So... aside from work, what else has been keeping me away from my blog?

1. PBA Games. Me and my husband watched a couple of PBA games live. Been a basketball freak for as long as I can remember. Blame it to my parents who used to bring me to Araneta just to watch Crispa (our Fave team) go against Toyota (hated them -- sorry, we never rooted for Jaworski's team ever!) when I was barely 8 yrs old. I grew up in a household where PBA was like uhmm -- a habit -- an addiction. So now that I'm kinda "older", I just can't get it off my system. :p

2. METEOR GARDEN. I admit I never really joined the "hype" when they first showed it here in the Philippines. In short, I never got hooked. But now I just can't help it. My day will never be complete without watching an episode. Haay... I love Dao! :D

3. SHOPPING, SHOPPING, and MORE SHOPPING. As I have mentioned on my Friendster account, I think I hybernated from shopping way too long that I've missed it soooo much. Now I just can't stop the urge. I'm so broke! haha I can't get enough of Mango stuffs and there are still a lot on my shopping list. If you ask who my bestfriends are these days, I'd say -- MANGO, TOPSHOP, CHOCOLATE CLOTHING CO., and PEOPLE R PEOPLE. A certified addict... haha! Now I can't wait for Saturday. My shopping day. ;)

.:: ME & THE SOUTH BEACH DIET ::.

I have once seen my husband on this diet. His weight loss for 2 weeks was close to 12 lbs. -- without exercise. Amazing isn't it? At that time, I have been experiencing cravings here and there that I wasn't ready to give up just yet. I was so hesitant. Full of what-if's. Say if we ran out of stocks at home I will have no choice but to eat whatelse is left in the fridge, right? Then that will be useless. I told him I will never do this diet unless someone will prepare a meal for me. I don't want to spend hours in the grocery trying to figure out if 'this and that' is acceptable in SBD's Phase 1 -- the hardest or the strictest phase if I may say so.

I've been hearing or reading a lot about some people who prepares South Beach Meals. Upon numerous inquiries, I felt that this Diet was meant for the upper class only. I mean how would an ordinary employee who belongs to the middle class ever afford a '1 thousand pesos per day diet'? Sure it's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner -- but that's still 1k a day for God's sake! So that's 14 thousand for 2 weeks! Goodness gracious...

And so I gave up my interest of having been able to do this diet. I thought it wasn't just meant for me. Until recently I learned of this South Beach Diet Delivery that's far more cheaper than that of Cibo, Le Souflé, etc. I was so thankful I got this contact from Paula's blog. Checked on my budget and luckily -- I have an 'extra money' I can use for it. Called them last April 14-15, made some arrangements, and was determined to start by April 18. Hah! I'm on my second week now. So far I'm happy with the results. I've lost approximately 8-9 lbs in 8 days. Not bad since their average is 8-14lbs weight loss in 2 weeks. And I still have 4 more days!

Wish me luck -- next target would be getting back in shape through sports. ;)

.:: LOVING SPORTS ::.

Talk about delinquent blogger -- that's me! I'm so sorry blog. I was just so lazy to even write a thing.

Oh well let's talk about things I miss the most. My interests -- sports in particular. I just miss being so active especially now that I feel so physically unfit (I gained weight close to 20 lbs -- ugh!). But I'm currently on a diet so I'm expecting to go back to my old form (or atleast close to it) in a couple of weeks. By then, it'll be easier to take any sport again (but as of now, taekwondo's on top of the list).

I used to foresee myself as someone who would do sports for a living. As in teach, be a pro and earn big bucks out of it or atleast do an office job in this field. But fate lead me to a job that doesn't even give me an ample amount of time to do the activities I used to be in. Plus of course now that I have my own family, it's just so close to impossible. Until recently, I realized I can somehow squeeze it in -- once or twice a week will do. And as if a sign I needed badly, last night my Dad handed me a plastic bag containing -- guess what? -- my taekwondo uniform! haha Hopefully I'd be able to start in a week or two.

I tried different sports when I was younger. My Mom used to describe me as -- Jack of all trades master of none. Well, I may have jumped from one sport to another but (ehem) atleast I excelled in each of them. Modesty aside.

Among all, Taekwondo and Dragonboat Rowing are the closest to my heart. These are the sports I practically grew up with and I literally spent my adolescent stage kicking and paddling.

When I reached 14, I was so determined to learn any kind of Martial Arts. Since I have a very flexible body, I opted to take Taekwondo for obvious reasons. And having Bea Lucero as one of my sports icon, that's enough motivation. Seeing her during competitions and meeting her personally was just a bonus. It's the medals earned and the confidence of my instructor (on my talent & abilities) that really made me stick to it. That up to now, I know I can always go back to it making my instructor really happy -- knowing that one of his prized students is coming back. ;)

Rowing on the other hand, was the most fun of all the sports I've been to. It's a team sports where everyone's almost on the same age. This sport taught me how to use the alarm clock and for me, that's already an achievement. I remember using an alarm clock when I was in highschool but it has always failed to wake me up. Not when I was already into rowing. It has indeed taught me a different kind of discipline. That I have to be up and about as early as 3:30-4:00 a.m. (when some kids this age are still on dreamland). Although this is a team sport, I'm happy to say I have also achieved a lot. I have somehow contributed to the countless medals of our team locally and internationally. And being the pacer of a team was a hard task. Everyone on the boat depends on you. But anyhow, I managed. I may be one of the leanest in the team but I'm no push-over. I can even beat guys or girls that are far bigger than me -- that's why I was given the spot of being one of the pacers. They just believe in me. Ask my coach. ;)

Although my dream of becoming a pro didn't materialize, for me, it's enough that I have proven my worth in each sport I've been to. I may have not made it to the National Team but I know in the eyes of my Instructors and/or Coaches, I'm still one of the best -- or as what we often say in Filipino -- "Pambato". ;)

hmm... another reason why i finally decided to create my own blog -- to kill time!!! here i am in front of my pc waiting for the clock to strike 4 and voila! am gone! haha... can't wait to go home -- i miss my son, i miss my husband -- and it's a sunday for God's sake! what d f**k am i doing here in the office in the first place? oh well... that's one disadvantage of working in a call center. having to work even on sundays (and philippine holidays, mind you). sore loser! haha! can't wait for the next transition to come (well atleast that's about a week from now) -- at last i'll be back to Sat-Sun off yipee!

yesterday while i was wide awake at 4 in the morning -- am telling you i have mastered the art of waking up earlier than my alarm clock set at 5 a.m. -- i heard my son shouting "ma-ma! mama!" -- haha! that was the first time i heard him utter words while asleep. oh actually that was the second time. first time was the other night when me and my husband overheard him say -- "Dada!". awww... so cute! hehe

at last! 3:50 p.m and in less than 10 minutes or so... i'm outta here. weehee. got to fix my things now.

oh yeah!!! first post ever. waha nervous? naahh... excited? yes! haha... actually, mixed emotions. i dunno if i'd be able to keep up with this as religiously as i can. you know how people can get so lazy at times. especially when it comes to writing! teehee!
